Facial Peels Decoded
Skin is constantly exposed to various environmental factors such as sun, air pollution, cold, wind etc. As seasons shift, natural skin transformation kick in and can be even more vulnerable. Skin might look very dull and lifeless. It is a perfect time to treat yourself with Face Peel.
I recommend getting a light to medium peels (usually 2-3 needed) between September and May (depending on the region). Deep peel should be considered after 30 years of age to prevent premature signs of aging and stimulate collagen production. I recommend getting it once a year between October and February (depending on the region).
Face peels can improve skin’s texture, even skin tone, minimize fine lines, and clear up acne by unclogging pores. Choosing the right peel for your skin problem to avoid oil overproduction and even more acne is vital.
Here are most common Face Peels:
Salicylic acid is perfect for unclogging pores. Be careful, it may over dry skin. Use in conjunction with good moisturizing products .
Kava, Lactic acid or Jessner peels are mild. They hydrate skin and smooth wrinkles. There is almost no downtime, but you will need at least 3 treatments to see the result.
TCA peels are considered medium depth peels and help to treat pigmentation, sun damage and wrinkles. The downside of these peels is that they feel slightly more uncomfortable than lighter peels and have a downtime (about a week).
Herbal peels are my favorite. They contain herbs that cause a micro injury to the upper skin layer. With this peel, you can choose the depth and downtime respectively. This peel diminishes wrinkles, fine lines and stretch marks improves skin texture and elasticity, heals acne and evens sebum, improves skin circulation and oxygen supply, and lightens skin discoloration and acne scarring.
